It seems as though every idiot in middle management has some type of subconscious desire to be a sports coach.
Among the more interesting corporate words and phrases that I learned from these idiots over the years:
Basic Blocking & Tackling : this was used to emphasize the fact that you need to take care of the day to day tasks while still keeping an eye on the future. In other words, retain the clients you have while still growing at the unimaginable pace predicated by upper idiot management.
Muscle Memory: when you come back from a vacation or just decide to zone out at your desk for a few weeks, you won’t be as sharp as you were. Similar to an athlete going through the basic motions of their sport.
Get it Over the Goal Line: Close the deal.
